June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day π§‘
At Conexus, we are proud to join communities across Canada in recognizing and celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and MΓ©tis Peoples.
National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year: a time that has long held significance for many Indigenous communities as a season of gathering, sharing, renewal, and celebration. π
One of the best ways to learn and celebrate is by participating in local events. Here are just a few of the celebrations taking place across Saskatchewan:
Wanuskewin National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration
π Saskatoon, Wanuskewin Heritage Park

πΏ A full-day celebration of Northern Plains Indigenous cultures featuring powwow dance and drum performances, storytelling, artisan demos, plant walks, archaeology activities, and Bannock baking in a tipi village.

πΏ A community celebration featuring Indigenous culture, storytelling, and opportunities to connect and learn. The event is listed on the Celebrate Canada map as Regina's featured National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration for 2026.
Prince Albert National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

π A family-friendly festival with a unity walk, opening ceremonies, live performances, cultural programming, vendors, and youth activities.
Yorkton Tribal Council National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration

π₯ A full-day celebration featuring cultural activities, artisan vendors, live entertainment, a free BBQ, and a fireworks finale.
