I thought that now would be a good time to let you see me...the woman behind Mungo’s Books.

It’s easy to see a business as an entity on its own and forget that there are real people behind it, even with businesses that we love.

I tend to work quietly in the background, doing everything that needs to be done, but not putting myself out there.

Now I want you to see me...as Mungo’s Books, as the person who makes it all happen, and as the woman who needs this little business to be successful now, more than ever.

I started Mungo’s Books out of a love of dogs and a desire to connect their people with resources that I knew could help them...and out of a love of books, too. It was difficult to get these things in Canada, and I wanted to bring them to you to make it easier.

I’ve been a bookseller since I was 17, a dog trainer for 18 years and counting, and have loved dogs my entire life, just like many of you.

For 14 years, Mungo’s Books has taken place on the side of everything else that I do:

- being a “stay-at-home” mum of three boys (while always managing to have another job, too)
- homeschooling my boys, all the way through...and we’re not done
- dog training, in classes & private lessons
- working for a soccer club (my “regular” job for the past 5 1/2 years)
- coaching & playing soccer

BUT now things are changing daily, often in unexpected and uncomfortable ways. And as a result, my job at the soccer club is coming to an end, leaving Mungo’s Books as my only income and support for my family.

I know what a difference it will make for all of us when I finally finish the website and, now that I have more time, this will be my priority. I can’t wait to enjoy how much easier this will make it! 🙂

So...I am asking for your genuine support - by spreading the word about Mungo’s Books to anyone who might need us, and, most importantly, by buying books and other products that help you and your dog to understand and enjoy each other to your hearts’ content.
