Lakeside Community Church
Lakeside Community Church, in Salmon Arm, BC, is a family that wants to grow in our relationship with Jesus and each other.
Hello Lakeside famliy,
There is exciting news to share with you about hOurspace (as a reminder, this is the co-working space (and ministry) run by LCC, located in the Scotiabank building; it builds community connections in ways that would not necessarily be possible with an overtly "church" setting).
We now have a signed lease agreement with the landlord, after many months of communication challenges, and a few months of negotiation to bring the monthly amount to something LCC can afford for the coming year. The lease is in line with the step of faith that we as a church discussed at the Annual General Meeting in March.
October 31 is an important date as this is the time by which we need to inform the landlord if we plan to reach an agreement for continuing the lease for an additional year (or years).
Please continue to be in prayer for this ministry - part of the step of faith is the desire to have hOurspace continue to grow towards being as self sufficient (financially) as possible; LCC does have funds this year to support as needed.
Sincerely,
Your LCC Board (Harry Van Woerden, Wendy Goldman, Carrie Steinwand, Arnold Knutson, Danielle Konotopski)
I am asking for prayer for our Son-in-law and our daughter. Bill has lost his job and is devastated. He feels that there is no hope, that they will lose their home and vehicle and is inconsolable. Pray that he will find work and come out of this deep depression, his family is so hurting right now.
April Scott has joined Jeanette Clement in the church office as admin support for LCC. Jeanette will continue to work Wednesdays & Fridays 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, and April will work Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 – 1:30. Please feel free to call or drop by to say hello or if you have a need.
Food with Friends (a ministry of feeding those in need that has been running in the back parking area for some time) is going to do a "pilot project" where they will be using the indoor space downstairs at LCC for the coming winter months, so that those folks they support can eat in a warm space instead of outside in the freezing cold. We as a board are thankful that the details for this have come together, and glad that we can use this building we've been blessed with to bless others. Please contact the church office if you'd like to be involved with this ministry and they can connect you.
