✨ Today marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day. Thirty years of gathering, celebrating, and honouring the cultures, languages, and traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. A living, vital part of who we are as a country.

June 21 falls on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. For generations, Indigenous communities have gathered on this day to celebrate their languages, traditions, and connection to the land. It carries deep spiritual significance: a time of renewal, of coming together, and of passing knowledge and tradition from one generation to the next.

Today, that spirit fills communities across the country. Ceremonies, music, dance, art, and shared meals bring people together in celebration of cultures that continue to grow and evolve.

It is also a day to reflect on history, on the work that remains, and on what it means to be a genuine ally. Listening, learning, and showing up with respect are practices we can all engage in.

This moment is an invitation to celebrate alongside Indigenous Peoples, to deepen our understanding, and to commit to a future built on truth, respect, and connection.
