As we settle in for winter, now is a good time to set your HRV for cooler temperatures. Your home’s humidity level affects the comfort and quality of your indoor air. Set your HRV to 45% when temperatures range between 0 degrees Celsius and -10 degrees Celsius. Each home and HRV will operate differently, adjust by 5% until there is no remaining moisture along your windows.

Care and attention should be taken when setting your HRV. To much humidity in the house can result in condensation, ice build up and mold. To little humidity in the house can cause dry, itchy skin and may lead to damaged flooring, cabinets and other wood work.
