Today is May 1st, which means that it is in Canada. The theme for 2023 is .

Did you know that one in five people with chronic kidney disease is affected by depression? In fact, people with kidney disease are 3-4x more likely to have depression than people from the general population.

Living with a chronic disease such as CKD is hard and can feel very isolating. It is ok to not be ok. Reach out if you are struggling. Start a conversation that matters with somebody today. Let’s work together to reduce the by creating a culture of acceptance and understanding. Sharing our stories reminds us that we are not alone in our experiences

There are resources available to help you cope with the challenges of living with chronic kidney disease. Talk to your health care team to get you connected to mental health supports.

APRIL IS DONOR AWARENESS MONTH! This Friday is Green Shirt Day, but what more important than wearing a green shirt? It's registering to be an organ and/or tissue donor, talking to your family about your decision, and learning about all the parts of our bodies that could actually be donated to save or enhance someone else's life. Do not assume your organs or tissues are no good, or that you are too old. There is no age limit, and even people with some kinds of cancers can donate their corneas!
