Trail Closures Starting Soon!

Several sections of the Meewasin trail will be temporarily closed this summer as trail enhancement projects and City work get underway.

Swipe to view detour routes to help plan your visit before heading out!

Kiwanis Memorial Park Central Trail Enhancement:
Beginning the week of June 22, this trail section will be closed while upgrades are completed, including replacing the existing trail, installing new site furniture, adding new plantings, and upgrading trail lighting. A detour will be in place along the sidewalk on Spadina Crescent.

Kinsmen Upper Link Trail Enhancement:
Beginning the week of June 29, a portion of the existing Meewasin Trail connecting under the University Bridge in Kiwanis Memorial Park will be closed for upgrades, including replacement of the existing trail, construction of a new accessible asphalt trail, installation of new site furniture, new plantings, and upgraded trail lighting. Detours will be available via Spadina Crescent or the lower trail along the river.

Wanuskewin Trail Closure:
The trail from Silverwood Dog Park to Wanuskewin will be closed due to the City of Saskatoon's Biosolids Project. A detour will be in place from the Silverwood Dog Park to Marquis Drive, connecting to the multi-use pathway on the Chief Mistawasis Bridge and McCormond Drive.

For more information on these projects, visit this link for trail enhancements: https://meewasin.com/enhancements/ & this link for closures: https://meewasin.com/trail-closures/

Please exercise caution near work areas, follow all posted signage, respect construction zones, and do not enter active work areas.

Sometimes all you need to do is put down your phone and reconnect with nature to feel grounded again.

Right outside your door, the Meewasin Valley offers space to slow down, take a deep breath, and reconnect with yourself and the world around you.

To encourage these moments of connection, Meewasin is offering free or by-donation Silent Walks at Beaver Creek. Join us for a peaceful morning spent unplugging, practicing mindfulness, and experiencing the beauty of nature through quiet observation.

Our first walk takes place this Saturday, with walks continuing every two weeks until August 22.
