One Paw At A Time Animal Rescue

I swore my intake was closed… I have 2 vet bills we need to pay off and 3 surgeries I need to book… but today when I saw some kittens in need I couldn’t help but reach out. A very caring individual has gone out of her way to try and assist some of the stray cats in her area of town. It’s kitten season, so naturally there are quite a few of these little gaffers running around. Unfortunately this little guy came in sick, with an upper respiratory infection, and she didn’t feel knowledgeable enough to treat him, the director of the rescue she usually works with is away, so I offered my assistance, as sick kittens and I are no strangers.
KOA is safe and being treated for his infection, and who will continue with his care following this can be discussed after. For now he needs rest and care.
What I do know for sure though, is that there are many kittens just like KOA still waiting for their chance at rescue. I cannot help them with these bills still remaining on our account.

Welcome to the rest of your new life KOA!

It’s $5 Friday and we are still slowly chipping away at some old bills. The truth is, it's hard to dedicate the same time I used to, to fundraising now with both my kids. But I won't stop. I always say rescue is in the blood, and this just means it's time to brainstorm and pivot.

I have received many messages for animals in need, but unfortunately for now, my intake is closed until we wrap up these bills.

That doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy trying to assist animals though! Yesterday we helped network a pup to another rescue. Turns out the person that needed assistance lived in the same city, and the transfer was completed smoothly. HUGE THANKS TO Angel Cormier OVER AT Tails Of Tomorrow! She did not hesitate to intake a large 7month Canó Corso and I can’t wait to see what she does with him! The woman was able to find a home for her other dog on her own. It just took some kind, hopeful words to keep her pushing through. Hearing the sense of relief from the woman’s messages…. Knowing her dogs were safe and she could focus on moving forward… that’s what it’s all about.

Next we have a cat returning to rescue due to no fault of his own. Neutered, vaccinated, and great with dogs and kids!

We also still have Archie looking for his furever home. Unfortunately the prospective family we had lined up did not work out, and he is in urgent need of a new foster, or foster2adopt home BY JULY 18TH 🚨

Lastly, I offered to assist another rescue this morning with a sick kitten, as their director is away, and their foster is feeling uneasy about things. I am on my way to pick up said kitten shortly. EVERYONE MEET KOA!
