Happy New Year all, Ryan here. I hope you're well.

The Commissary opened its doors three months ago, and it’s been wonderful to hear and feel the enthusiasm and support from those of you who walk through the front door.
Thank you.

It’s with mixed emotions that I have made the decision to press pause on The Commissary @ The Combine, as of Friday, January 10.

Here's why:
Many of you have seen me hobbling about with an ongoing and worsening knee issue.
The really good news is I have an opportunity to have surgery in February to fix the issue.
The bad news is that it means I am out of commission for 6 to 8 weeks.
Crutches and kitchens and tile floors and hardwood floors and stairs and the rapid pace of food service are not mutually compatible, and, at the risk of sounding egotistical, this place really cannot run successfully without me spending some time front of house, and behind the cheese case, and in the kitchen every day.

This, coupled with the reality that the next four months are very lean in both the retail and restaurant world, means I will be taking this time off to reassess and reevaluate what The Commissary can and needs to be, whilst healing this knee and coming back strong.

The Commissary will be open every day 12- 5 through Thursday January 9, so come in and help us clear out our freezers and fridges with most items

New Year's Eve Hours:
We will be open to shop New Year's Eve 11-4, for all your last minute New Year's cheese and snack needs. There is no lunch service, so we can prep for NYE Supper Service.

NYE Reservation Availability:
There is room for one lucky couple in our 800pm seating. Don't miss out on the most intimate dining experience in Norfolk!
