Did you know that under Canadian tax laws, service dogs are considered medical devices and costs related to their care are classified as medical expenses? This means that if you pay for the care of a service dog, you can claim things like food, grooming, supplies and even vet care, as medical expenses.

Note: this only applies to trained service dogs. ESAs do not qualify.

Alberta is the ONLY province that has decided to claw back the Canada Disability Benefit from disability recipients.

AISH recipients will have until February 28th, 2026 to apply for the DTC. If a recipient has not gotten a decision on their DTC application, they will see an automatic $200 per month reduction in their AISH benefits starting April 2026! Don't let the government take your money!

Those scammy disability tax credit companies are taking advantage of this situation, and they're charging customers outrageous rates! Sometimes up to 30% of any potential refund you may receive. Don't fall for it!
