enVision programs create pathways to employment for local youth 05/12/2026

Dear Donors,

Your support is changing lives.

Cesar Doerksen is one of those success stories. Through SWEP and STRIDE, he found a work placement caring for animals, then landed a paid position at Santa Lucia Pizza — and recently earned his learner's permit!

"STRIDE helped me with a lot. There are really nice people willing to help me."

Behind every milestone like Cesar's is a community that said YES to inclusive employment, YES to meaningful opportunity, and YES to investing in people.

Thank you for making it possible.

Did you know that there is a significantly higher prevalence of mental health struggles among people living with an intellectual disability? Aside from mental health struggles, people aged 55+ were also shown to be prone to having dementia. Healthcare gaps in Manitoba and communication difficulties prevent people from getting the right help they need. The numbers are discouraging, but there is always a way to make a difference.

This May 4–10, CMHA’s Mental Health Week is calling on all of us to Come Together, Canada. Through small, everyday actions that foster connection, we can strengthen mental health, reduce loneliness among those around us, and build more supportive communities. Because connection strengthens mental health.

Reach out today. Connect with and encourage someone who needs support.

National Volunteer Week is a chance to recognize the people who give their time to make inclusion real.

At enVision, our volunteers help create spaces where people living with an intellectual disability can learn, connect, and thrive in the community.

We’re grateful for every hour, every conversation, and every moment you give. Thank you!
