Radix Endodontics

This nine year old boy took an unlucky baseball to the teeth, resulting in three complicated crown fractures. ⚾️😣 Fortunately, he was able to recover all three of the fractured incisal segments which were bonded back on following root canal therapy.

It is not often that we can get a patient back in for a long term recall. But it is nice to see the outcome, good or bad. This was a 10 year old boy who presented with a facial swelling originating from a necrotic and immature lower first premolar. Regenerative endodontic therapy was performed with the hope of continued root development. At today’s nine year recall, we would have loved to see more root wall thickening, but at least the tooth has remained asymptomatic and the bone has regenerated (even into the canal!) 🤷🏻‍♂️
