❓Why is the upper extremity more affected than the lower extremity?

❗️The cervical spine is the most central tract in the corticospinal tract, followed by the thoracic, lumbar and sacral tracts.

With a central cord lesion, only the central portion of the corticospinal tract is affected. Since the cervical representation in the corticospinal tract is the most medial, the upper extremity is more affected.

✨Here’s how to pump up those numbers 💪

1️⃣ Learn the specific professional standards that are testable on the Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE)
Here is a quick list
- Advertising
- Collaborative practice
- Communication
- Malingering
- Privacy
- Professional boundaries
- We cover all these topics in our Premium Written Course + Ethics Masterclass

2️⃣Review case examples that cover the testable professional standards.
Reflect on real life examples that you’ve came across during placement or during your clinical practice. If you are fresh out of school, make sure you review what was covered in your ethics courses (hopefully you didn’t skip…;))

3️⃣Create discussion groups with your study partner(s). Engage in conversation around HOW you should proceed in X Y Z scenarios.

4️⃣Watch for exam trends, hot topics, and make sure you are preparing with the best material out there (yes, this is a humble plug for our course…)
