Taper candles are a timeless, elegant addition to any space, and while they are often associated with the hand-dipping process, they can also be made using molds. However, this technique comes with its own unique challenges that make the process as rewarding as the final product.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at crafting taper candles with molds:

✔️Choosing the Mold
Taper molds are typically made of silicone or metal, designed to create that iconic slender, elongated shape.

⛓️‍💥Prepping the Wick
The wick is threaded through the center of the mold and anchored tightly to ensure it stays straight. This step is crucial because any misalignment can affect how the candle burns!

💧Pouring the Wax
Wax is melted and carefully poured into the mold. Temperature is everything here—too hot, and the mold might warp (if silicone); too cool, and the candle may form air pockets or uneven layers.

🕯️🚨Once the candle dries, the challenging part comes in! Because taper candles are long and slender, removing them from the mold can be difficult. Even a slight tug can cause cracks or surface, practice and patience is key!✨
