A suspended doctor is now facing 28 new sex-crime charges, bringing the total number of criminal counts against him to 71, according to police. Investigators say the allegations span multiple provinces and include accusations of sexual assault, voyeurism and sexual interference involving minors. Some of the alleged offences date back to 2009, with incidents reported in Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as they work to identify additional potential victims.

Toronto’s Auditor General 2025 fraud and waste report reveals several city employees were implicated in wrongdoing, including one who stole mailroom packages valued at about $2,300 and another who collected three weeks of paid sick leave while working a second job. Both individuals are no longer employed by the city, and the sick‑leave misuse has been repaid while other cases continue to be investigated. The annual report is based on nearly 700 tips to the city’s Fraud and Waste Hotline, which also helped prevent millions in potential losses and recover hundreds of thousands in actual losses. City officials say strengthened oversight and accountability measures are being implemented to prevent similar abuses in the future.
