Meet the BA Staff!! Maddie has been with us for almost two years and we are so lucky to have her ❤️

Hi my name is Maddie, and I’m currently in my third year of Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU, formerly Ryerson). After my program, I’m hoping to complete my Masters of Social Work.

I’m currently doing my student placement at SAAAC Autism Centre, and during the summer I worked as a 1:1 camp counsellor at Toronto Kidz Summer Camp. I’ve also volunteered at Rosalie Hall.

I love being outside, swimming, volleyball, and I absolutely love reading! A fun fact about me is I have a crested gecko named Leo🦎

We are a very active camp and will be outdoors, at the beach, at the park, and playing games, and doing crafts!! We are located in the Beach Mall in Suite 202. Space is limited!!

Hi! 👋 I thought I would introduce myself:) My name is Andrea and I am co-owner and teacher at Balanced Acorns After School Program. Our program is now going into its third year and we are so happy to see it growing!! I am a Mom of two boys, a former college instructor, and student advisor and also currently a kids yoga teacher 🧘

After working as a college instructor and student advisor for close to 15 years, I decided I needed a change and wanted to be home more especially when my kids were young. This shift lead me to think about other ways I could still do what I love, but still be home for my kids and so I took a kids yoga teacher training course. From there, I opened up Little Acorns Yoga Studio in my home. I have since taken over 100hrs of Kids Yoga Teacher Training!!

Realizing that there was a need in the neighbourhood for after school care, especially now that more people are heading back into the office, Caroline and I came up with our Balanced Acorns After School Program. We both love being outdoors, being physically active, and love working with kids so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to open up our own business 💚 Now we have our own space in the Beach Mall on Queen St in Suite 202!!

Can’t wait for another great year at BA!!
