"The transition from being a live-in Residence Don at my university to my post-graduation experience for the past 2 years was an interesting one. The stark contrast between living on a busy campus in close proximity to so many of my friends, in a role that required constant relationship-building, and the subsequent experience of working from home during a pandemic was a difficult adjustment.
I always knew that I enjoyed the presence of other people but this post-grad experience provided me with additional appreciation of the value of social interaction. It’s more than merely having a fun night out. It opens you up to new perspectives, gives opportunities for mutual support during tough times, and accelerates your growth as a human being.
I realize now that from infancy to adolescence we are spoon-fed opportunities for connection. Socially, one might say we are playing the game on ‘Easy Mode’ for the first few phases of our lives. As an adult, it’s much more difficult, but this challenge just makes it all the more rewarding. I’m excited to see our generation of young adults face the challenge head-on and find some creative solutions!"

Young workers will start looking outside the workplace for a sense of belonging, and find others in their local communities doing the same.
Majority of younger workers fear loneliness from long-term home working - Workplace Insight Chargifi claims that since working from home, Gen Z and Millenials feel disproportionately isolated, and say it is negatively impacting their ability
