Digital Skills for Older Adults 07/02/2026

The NIA was pleased to collaborate with the Diversity Institute - Toronto Metropolitan Universityin the development of its latest report on digital skills for older adults.

The report examines the digital skills gap among older adults in Canada and presents evidence-based recommendations to strengthen digital inclusion, including:
✔️ A nationally led digital inclusion strategy for older adults
✔️ Accessible, personalized digital skills training
✔️ Community-based, intergenerational and peer-supported learning models
✔️ Better alignment between digital skills, workforce, health and aging policies

Annie is a respected public policy leader with 15 years of experience advancing housing rights and developing practical and equitable solutions to complex social challenges. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights, where she led the organization's national growth and strengthened its leadership on housing security and affordability.

As an Associate Fellow, Annie will help advance the NIA's work at the intersection of housing, ageing and social well-being, supporting evidence-informed solutions that enable older Canadians to age with dignity, security and independence.
