🌿 Tick Nature Study 🌿🐜

Let’s talk ticks: those kinda scary / kinda dangerous (but also fascinating) little blood suckers. Despite their ick factor, ticks are a part of everyday life for many of us, especially those of us who like to spend time outside. With the current rise and spread of tick-borne illnesses, such as Lyme and Alpha-gal, it’s super important to educate our kids (and ourselves) about these pesky parasites and how to safely share their habitat.

My brand new tick nature study (which took me a year to finish, oh my gosh!) is packed full of thoroughly researched and scientifically supported information about tick biology and tick safety. Each lesson is accompanied by supporting materials and activities, such as labeling and mini posters, 3-part cards, fact cards, colouring, storytelling activities, a word search, and research opportunities, as well as links to supporting educational videos. It even includes a review game! And as always, all of the resources and activities feature my original, hand-painted, watercolour illustrations.

Lesson topics include: tick anatomy, ecology (habitat and diet), life cycle, behaviour, types of ticks, tick-borne illnesses, tick safety, tick checks, and how to safely remove ticks.

This study is best suited for learners aged 6 to 12+. And don’t worry, no scary stuff here. The information is provided in a fun, gentle way with a young (possibly anxious) audience in mind. Ticks don’t have to be scary!

My tick nature study is currently available as part of the Summer MEGA Bundle sale that is on until June 9, along with a ton of other amazing resources! You can check it out at the link below.

Have you ever found something fuzzy growing in the back of your refrigerator? Or maybe smelled a funky smell when you opened an old container of food? Food doesn’t stay fresh forever. After a while, good food goes bad. Yuck!

My introduction to the science of food spoilage and food preservation includes four weeks of GROSS science lessons supported by lots of fun hand-painted hands-on activities, real-life observations, and scientific experimentation.

If your littles love gross things as much as mine do, they will love this resource!

My Science of Food Spoilage and Preservation resource is currently part of the Homesteading Bundle, which is available until May 17 for only $25 USD.
