Scientists from the University of Cambridge made a groundbreaking discovery that could revolutionize the fight against climate change, using something you might find in your kitchen...
Activated charcoal.
This is the black stuff often used in filters to clean water.
Turns out activated charcoal can also be used to filter CO2 of out the air.
Why does this matter?
Some people argue that we should focus on burning less fossil fuels in order to fight climate change.
However, leading scientists agree that we need to pull all available levers in order to reduce CO2 in our atmosphere.
This includes burning less fuel and using technologies like charging activated charcoal to vacuum CO2 out of the air.
