One of the first things I ask a new client is who is their product/service for ? The answer you deff don’t want to hear back is “everyone”🤦🏻‍♀️

I get that businesses don’t want to limit themselves but it’s basically impossible to create something that pleases everyone🙈 especially if you have to accommodate all their different wants and needs, as well as deal with competition in all those fields !

Designing for ‘everyone’ or an ‘average customer’ is the same. When designing for average; you’re going to create average designs - and that won’t resonate strongly with ANYONE😩🤷🏻‍♀️

The best way to deal with this is to get “everyone” narrowed down to a small number or customer/buyer personas and then decide if they’re a large enough market / how to adjust if not.

What makes this different from designing for an ‘average customer’ is that different personas come with specific data - from interviews, analytics, observations etc. and the patterns found here can be used to inform design and actually MOVE audiences to act✨
