This beautiful client has received a treatment that targets pigmentation and acne. We decided to combine light therapy with microdermabrasion to smooth and refine the epidermis. The result is a much more radiant complexion that allows better product absorption.

Here are some reasons to incorporate light therapy to your facial treatments-

📍improves circulation.
📍treats and prevents hyperpigmentation.
📍calms and heals.
📍improves acne scars.
📍improves epidermal texture.

💫Happy Black History Month!

💚💛❤️
With a career spaning over 25 years in aesthetics and medical aesthetics, I have had the privilege of transforming lives through personalized skincare and beauty treatments. I began my journey with a deep passion for beauty and self care, earning my diploma in aesthetics and obtaining certifications in medical aesthetics. This blend of education and training has allowed me to provide an array of services from classic skincare routines to advance medical-grade treatments, ensuring that my clients receive the highest quality care and results.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, where I have focused on catering to the unique needs of each individual. As a black aesthetician, my goal has always been to ensure that my services are inclusive and caters to all skin types.

As we celebrate Black History Month, I reflect on my journey with gratitude. This month reminds me of the importance of representation and the continued need to break barriers in every field, including beauty and aesthetics. I am proud to be part of a legacy of Black professionals who have paved the way and continue to inspire the next generation of beauty experts.

I am excited for what the future holds as I continue to learn, grow, and serve my community with the dedication and passion that has shaped my career.

Thank you to each one of you for trusting in me and for allowing me into your space. 🙏🏾❤️

This time of the year is it difficult to keep the skin hydrated. Our heating systems and bad indoor air quality are in itself a nightmare on the skin, and when we step outside, all the moisturizer we apply is gobbled up instantly with the wind and other elements 🥶

This weather has given us no choice but to reapply when it is necessary ( we can feel it), but some of us still have difficulty with this concept. When our skin feels dry and looks dry, reapply another generous layer😉. Don't wait until the skin feels and looks like paper to reapply. Don't cheap out on your skin. You only have one 😁 Treat it well! 🤗

The simple rule with moisturizer is to use the tip of your pinky as a guide. Apply enough moisturizer to cover the tip up to the first line 🤗 . If when you apply your moisturizer and the face still feels dry, please reapply another layer. Follow up with a hyaluronic acid or vitamin C topical. Remember, healthy looking skin is a reflection of what is happening internally 😉

📌January skin tip ✨️ hydrate more and exfoliate less.

✨️This time of the year brings out the absolute worst in our skin.

The lack of insufficient vitamin D, poor heating systems, and clothing like polyester that does not allow sufficient ventilation.

The number one clurpit for the way our skin appears is a lack of hydration. I am not talking about coffee and tea, which we prefer to sip on because it warms up the gut. I am talking about H2O.
Natural, In the winter months, our healthy skin cells take on a mind of their own, slowing down, causing a build-up of dead cells. This unfortunately causes the skin to look blah, lack luster, dull, and ashy if you will 🤔🫢.

📌Athough we rarely focus on the implications that can arise because of the above. My concern as a medical aesthetician is the intiguments inability to absorb skincare products properly. This can cause micro cracks on the skin. Some may even experience fishers in areas such as the hands and soles of the feet because these areas do not have pores like the rest of the body.
Last September, we decided to design a new treatment that focuses on manuel exfoliation and topical hydration using essential oils of kiwi, orange, and jojoba. These combinations of oils are incredible when they are applied on the skin. The commonality that all of these essential oils contain is vital C. Yes, vitamin C, but I like to call these vital C because they are essential to the health of the skin!

🥳I am excited to introduce DGF SkinMed's new service
