One of things we, as human beings do, we try to explain and rationalize our emotions. Because when it is explained and put away in a box, it makes us feel safe.
But sometimes it is perfectly fine NOT to do that.
I have had that happen to me a few times when I was stretching after the workout I could feel tears welling up and I just let them flow. I was focusing on the physical sensations rather then trying to understand why my body wants to cry.
I feel the tears in my eyes.
I can feel how the tear is running down my cheek.
I feel tension in my chest.
And then it is all gone.
But I feel lighter and calmer.
Maybe that was my stress from two days ago.
Maybe that was a way my body was taking care of itself releasing all the tension that built up inside of me.
I do not know.
And I do not really care.
Learning to observe and NOT analyze is a skill which helps us be kind to ourselves.
And when we are kind to ourselves we can extend that kindness to others.
