The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is undergoing a massive overhaul on May 30, 2026. If you are an international student, a foreign worker, or an Express Entry candidate planning to settle in Ontario, you need to read this carefully.
Ontario is officially shutting down ALL existing OINP streams. The days of broad, generalized draws are over. In their place, the province is launching a hyper-targeted selection system focused on three things:
1️⃣ Occupation-Specific Needs: Draws will heavily target specific NOC codes in critical sectors like healthcare, skilled trades, and tech.
2️⃣ Strict Employer Verification: You can no longer rely on standard job offers. Employers must now be officially registered and verified through the new OINP employer portal for your application to be accepted.
3️⃣ Regional Labour Shortages: The system will heavily prioritize candidates filling immediate gaps, especially outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
What is the bottom line?
Direct PR pathways based solely on your education (such as the previous graduate streams) are being heavily restricted. The new OINP is an employer-driven landscape. If your current PR strategy relied on the old rules, your pathway might disappear on May 30th.
Strategy matters now more than ever. At True Visa Solution, we are already analyzing these regulatory changes to help our clients pivot, adapt, and secure their permanent residency under the new system.
Don't wait until the rules change to figure out your next step.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will implement a scheduled increase for all Permanent Residence (PR) application fees on April 30, 2026. This biennial adjustment is mandated to account for inflation and maintain operational standards.
Crucial Timing for Applicants:
The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) is determined by the rate in effect on the date of payment. If you have already submitted your application but have not yet paid the RPRF, we strongly advise you to settle the balance before the April 30 deadline to remain at the current $575 rate.
📌 Key 2026 Fee Schedule:
Right of PR Fee (RPRF): $575 → $600
Express Entry / PNP / AIP: $950 → $990
Family Sponsorship Fee: $85 → $90
Business Class Principal Applicant: $1,810 → $1,895
Applications received online or postmarked on or after April 30, 2026, will be subject to these updated figures. Ensure your payment receipts match the new schedule to avoid processing delays or application returns.
