The Toronto Early Cognition Lab is looking for families with children ages 0–11 to join our online and in-person studies.

Kids get to take part in fun, age-appropriate activities while helping researchers better understand child development β€” including how children think, solve problems, and interact with others.

πŸ“Join us from home or visit our lab at 100 St. George Street (Sidney Smith Hall, U of T St. George Campus).

🌟 What keeps kids trying when something feels difficult?

The Toronto Early Cognition Lab is inviting children to take part in an online study exploring how kids think about persistence and challenges.

🧩 During the session, children will hear short stories about characters solving tricky puzzles and share their thoughts and opinions about what happens.

πŸ’» The study takes place over Zoom and includes a short online questionnaire for parents before the session. The appointment takes approximately 20–30 minutes.

🎁 As a thank-you, families receive a $5 Amazon gift card, and children earn a University of Toronto participation certificate.

🌟 How do kids decide who to trust?

The Toronto Early Cognition Lab is inviting 4 and 5 year olds to join a fun online study about how children decide who to trust.

🐾 Kids will look at pictures of animals and objects, some easy to recognize, some a little tricky, and answer questions about them!

🧠 Through simple questions and interactive activities, children help us learn more about how trust and decision-making develop.

πŸ’» The study takes 30 minutes, and takes place online, so families can participate easily from home.

🎁 Families receive a gift card, and children earn a University of Toronto participation certificate as a thank-you.
