The COC's new General Director, Ian Derrer, has a lifelong connection to opera.
From sitting in the audience as a child watching his parents perform, to stepping onto the stage himself, to working behind the scenes as a stage manager, Ian has experienced opera from nearly every angle.
Now, he's bringing that lifelong passion to the Canadian Opera Company. We're thrilled to welcome Ian to the COC as he begins this exciting new chapter.
