As of 2022, women hold less than 27% of tech-related jobs.

Female founders in the blockchain space make up less than 9 percent. Imagine what this means for funding & where that ends up... πŸ‘Ž

Women in software engineering report a lack of equal pay, making .93 cents for every dollar a man in the same field makes.

Women have received as little as 2 percent of all investment funds in a given year and receive far less global venture capital funding than their male counterparts πŸ™ƒ

Globally, women make up nearly 50 percent of the work force. Canada has the highest representation of women in the workforce at just over 61 percent!

Organization, training, pay equity, education – we see the gender gaps currently existing within this industry. We want to help change that by onboarding womxn & our community into the world of Blockchain πŸ’ͺ🏽

It begins with awareness – we need to familiarize ourselves with these statistics so that we can realize that there is a need for change. From there, with access & education, womxn will be able to find positions or projects that can help us see those numbers rise. We can also demand more from the organizations we exist within – we can take a look at where the gender gaps are within our own businesses & find solutions to create equity strategies we can commit to. Representation in spaces, especially in the STEM sector means more women can see themselves in roles that interest them. We are dedicated to creating a more equitable future for womxn, especially in the STEM & Blockchain space. Together we recognize the value of mentorship, collaboration & co-creating.

β€œMy mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” - Maya Angelou

Queens, meet Madam C.J. Walker πŸ‘‘

Widely regarded as the first female self-made millionaire, Madam C.J. Walker started her own line of hair products dubbed Madam Walker’s Wonderful Hair Grower in 1905. πŸ’°πŸ’ˆ

As her business grew, she not only provided employment to thousands, but engaged in philanthropic endeavors, giving in support of education and social justice. πŸ’ž

Tenacity and perseverance, faith in herself and in a higher power, quality products and β€œhonest business dealings” were the strategies she prescribed for aspiring entrepreneurs who asked for her ""rags-to-riches"" secret.

By the time she passed away, she helped create the role of the 20th Century, self-made American businesswoman; established herself as a pioneer of the modern black hair-care and cosmetics industry; and set standards in the African-American community for corporate and community giving. She donated much of her fortune to charities such as the NAACP and the National Association of Colored Women. ✊🏿

Madam C.J. Walker is an icon who made history and paved the way for other women to make their mark in the beauty industry.

β€œI am a woman who came from the cotton fields of the South. From there I was promoted to the washtub. From there I was promoted to the cook kitchen. And from there I promoted myself into the business of manufacturing hair goods and preparations….I have built my own factory on my own ground.”

– Madam C.J. Walker πŸ‘‘
