Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Verily, Satan is a wolf amongst humanity like the wolf who seizes the sheep wandering and straying from the flock. Beware of the winding mountain paths. You must stay with the wider community.”

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When I was taken up during the Night Journey, I passed by people who had nails of copper, scratching their faces and chests. I said: Who are these, O Gabriel? Gabriel said: These are the ones who ‘eat the flesh of people’ (49:12) and defame their reputations.”
