STARTING POINT TO BUILD WEALTH

Friend: "Tristan, what would you recommend as the starting point to building wealth?"

Me: "Intentionality."

Friend: "Huh? Please elaborate...."

Me: "You workout correct?"

Friend: "Yupp, 5 days per week."

Me: "What would happen to your fitness levels if you took 2 months off?"

Friend: "O boy 🤯. The last time I did that I felt so weak when I went back to the gym, I'd definitely lose strength."

Me: "What would happen if you didn't shower?"

Friend: "Yuck, I'd smell and my wife would force me to sleep on the couch."

Me: "Do you see the pattern?"

Friend: 💡"Wow, if we're not intentional about achieving something positive, the natural default is for the negative to occur."

Me: "Exactly, so the first step to building wealth is to be intentional. It's highly unlikely that you'll build any form of lasting wealth by accident."

You may have great desires to build wealth but without taking deliberate actions as a result of a well constructed plan you may just be "spinning your wheels."

Who are you like��

There is a universal truth revealed in Scripture, which says, "‭A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher," [see Luke 6:40].

Why is this significant�

Regardless of whether or not you realize it, you are being trained. You are being trained and have been trained by the "teachers" that you listen to and those that have your attention.

Who are your teachers about finances��

Is your teacher about finances the latest TikTok influencer? Is it your loving mother who grew up poor and wasn't educated about money? Is it your favorite superhero like the Superman comic that vilified the wealthy?�

These are questions worth considering because your teacher is training you to be LIKE them. So, if you find yourself in a financial position that is NOT where you desire to be, it's time to take personal inventory. You now have the opportunity to make a conscious selection of your teacher. Choose wisely, your financial future depends on it.

THE POWER OF COMMITMENT

This past Saturday, April 20th, 2024 my wife and I celebrated 11 years of marriage!!! 🥳.

As I reflect on these past 11 years I can say that one of the underlying keys to our success and longevity is COMMITMENT. Did things always go as planned? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Has there been challenging days along the way? OF COURSE! But one thing that has kept us, is our COMMITMENT to one another and the vision that we have together.

Likewise, on your journey to building a legacy you will experience challenges and apparent "detours." But what must remain constant is your commitment to your vision. And if you have the right plan in place and the unwavering commitment, like marriage, your best days are ahead of you!
