It was great to be in Haines Junction, Yukon last week for the Youth Leadership Academy Treaty Simulation hosted with Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (CAFN).

Participants divided into three teams representing CAFN, Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Kwanlin Dün First Nation, and Yukon Government to negotiate a new co-management model of Kusawa Territorial Park.

Participants worked with advisors Dave Joe, Lisa Hutton, Diane Strand, and Mary Jane Jim to hone their negotiation and problem-solving skills. The discussions were lively as participants worked hard to come to consensus. Thank you to all participants for your passion and enthusiasm!
