This viral “My Cat Is a Thief” sign came from Beaverton, where a mischievous black cat named Esme became famous for stealing random items from neighbors and proudly bringing them home as “gifts” for her owner, Kate Felmet. 😂

After Esme repeatedly returned with gardening gloves, masks, belts, fabric, kneepads, and other mysterious treasures, Kate created a public lost-and-found display in her yard so neighbors could reclaim their missing belongings. The hand-painted sign read:

“MY CAT IS A THIEF” 😹

Complete with a clothesline full of Esme’s stolen loot, the display quickly became a local attraction. Some neighbors even recovered items they’d been searching for for weeks!

Apparently, Esme’s favorite targets were gardening gloves 🧤 and she would proudly yowl at the back door after every successful “heist.” The story exploded online in 2021 and became one of the internet’s most wholesome cat crime stories. 🖤
