🎃 It’s Halloween and I've got a few tricks up my sleeve to help you manage some scary stuff: Feedback.

The truth is, doesn’t have to be frightening. 👻

✨️ Great feedback builds people up. It doesn’t leave them feeling gutted.

Try these strategies to deliver feedback that's actionable, forward-looking, and most importantly - encouraging. That's - and it's welcome anytime of year!

Let’s learn from each other. Please share your best (or worst!) feedback moments. ! 🍭🍬

Yesterday marked a true milestone for my team and me. 🎉

When I launched 21 years ago, I missed the magic of working with colleagues 🤝.

I’ve always loved the work I do at Clear Concept, but those early years were a tad lonely.

I missed the banter, brainstorming, shared goals, and friendships that come with being a solopreneur.

Fast forward to today—and one of the things I love most about my work is the joy of collaborating with so many amazing colleagues. 💡

Yesterday we led 3 (!!!) simultaneous workshops in 3 (!!!) different cities 🤯:

💥 Marla Warner led a session (one of my favourites!) for Navacord in Toronto.

📈 Kelly Peace and Charlotte Verbiest each led engaging productivity workshops for McCabe Promotional Advertising in London and Ottawa.

Participants always love our practical strategies that make their days a little easier. 🗂️

I’m sitting back in awe as I watch my colleagues shine. 🙌

I’m so humbled to work with such an incredible group of smart, hard-working, and fun professionals.

Do you have colleagues who make your work that much better?

Share this post and give them a little shout-out. 💙

We all love to feel seen, heard, and valued.

My friend and colleague Monteiro shared an inspiring video about feedback by the epic coach, Marshall Goldsmith. (I've linked to it below).

Here are the lessons that resonated most with me:

✨️ Focus on the future, not the past. The past can't be changed, so focus on actionable ideas they can use next time.

✨️ Treat others' feedback like a gift. Say thank you for this gift, even if you don't agree with all of their ideas.

✨️ Keep feedback simple, fast, and positive. Focus on one or two improvement areas at a time.

✨️Listening without getting defensive or preparing your rebuttal.

✨️ None of us need to be superior to help others.

✨️ Valuable ideas can come from anyone, even strangers. What matters is mutual support, not hierarchy or expertise.

✨️Sharing our common struggles helps to connect us. It is powerful to say, "I'm working on this too."

In our program, we share practical strategies you can use to empower and strengthen your team, and all your feedback conversations, whether you're delivering or receiving the feedback. This is what elevates performance and engagement on our teams and helps all of us do our best work.

🥪 Next up: Feeling snacky? ☺️ Stay tuned for a video on the good 'ol sandwich next week!
