How do ideas of forestry, rural life, nature, and environment contribute to the rise of fascism and authoritarian rule?
On Dec 3, the Dr. David Chu Program in Asia-Pacific Studies at the Asian Institute invites you to attend the webinar on the “Landscapes for Authoritarianism in Japan, China, India, and Beyond”. In this timely conversation, a group of historians and visual scholars will draw on specific cases from early twentieth-century Japan to contemporary China and India to examine the relationship between aesthetics, politics, and temporality.
