Let’s talk about Costco chicken... Specifically, why Costco chicken belongs in the garbage, not in your kitchen! ❌ For starters, these chickens are raised a total of ~ six weeks before going to slaughter, and they are force-fed GMO grain that is likely sprayed with glyphosate and other toxic pesticides. Make no mistake, all that toxic feed and any other contaminants from their environment will bioaccumulate in the meat you eventually consume. ❌ At the slaughterhouse, this chicken is dipped in a chlorine solution, creating carcinogenic byproducts that are also absorbed into the chicken. ❌ Then they inject preservatives into the chicken, including phosphate-based compounds and carrageenan, which turn into polygenin during cooking (and yes, all of this is toxic). ❌ Finally, this potentially carcinogenic chicken gets packed up piping hot into a PET blend plastic bag, which can leach phthalates, microplastics, and even forever chemicals into the chicken as well! ❌ Chicken 🐓 processed like this would be banned in Europe. And then we eat it!? 👉 NO THANKS! Yes, it’s cheap and convenient, but the REAL COST is your health over time. If you make Costco runs to grab their ready-to-go rotisserie chicken, DON’T!
