In 2001, Samco took a bold step into the automotive industry with the launch of Nuform—a dedicated division created to manufacture roll formed components for automotive customers.
Designed to meet the demanding pace of automotive production, Nuform operated five production lines simultaneously, manufacturing components such as window channels for the PT Cruiser, seat tracks for various vehicle models, and parts for the GM Hummer.
The venture demonstrated Samco's engineering expertise, manufacturing flexibility, and ability to serve one of the world's most demanding industries. While the business ultimately did not scale as envisioned, it provided invaluable experience and reinforced an important lesson: long-term success depends not only on technical capability, but also on finding the right market fit.

Growth brings opportunity—and sometimes a little overcrowding.
By 2013, Samco had officially outgrown its Nantucket facility. Desks had found their way into file rooms, and even the kitchen had been repurposed for office space as the team continued to expand.
That’s when an opportunity on Passmore Avenue changed everything.
A 164,000 sq. ft. facility provided the room Samco needed to support its growing operations and future ambitions. In just six months, the team successfully relocated to a new home built for the next stage of growth.
With expanded production space, improved workflow, and fully integrated production bays, the move helped streamline operations, reduce backlogs, and create capacity for new opportunities.
Looking back, this move wasn't just about a new building—it was a defining milestone that laid the foundation for the continued growth and success of Samco.
