The countdown is over. Tonight, Canadians from coast to coast gather at the Fairmont Royal York for a sold-out celebration of the voices and stories that inform, shape and protect our country. Welcome to the 2026 ✨

This is our moment to honour the incredible journalists and media organizations shaping our national conversation. Hosted by CBC Radio’s Elamin Abdelmahmoud and featuring a special performance by beloved Canadian singer-songwriter Jim Cuddy, the evening will present 16 prestigious awards, fellowships and bursaries to the people behind the stories that impact Canadian lives every single day.

As we celebrate these achievements, we also look to the future of Canadian storytelling by showcasing the exceptional work of our inaugural CJF NextGen Creator-Journalists.
