Financial attitudes are brightening across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.

FP Canada’s ninth Financial Stress Index shows that even with ongoing cost-of-living pressures in 2026, fewer people in Atlantic Canada say money is their top source of stress this year compared to last.

The survey offers a glimpse into the financial habits and feelings of Canadians from coast to coast. We’re breaking down some major findings from each region.

Working with a financial professional, such as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional or QUALIFIED ASSOCIATE FINANCIAL PLANNER professional, can help ease financial stress. The survey found that Canadians who work with financial professionals are less likely to cite money as their top stressor than those who don't.

When dealing with a fraudster, the biggest warning sign often isn't what they say—it's the pressure they create to make you act fast. That's why slowing down and having a plan before something happens is key.

In his latest article, Nick Hearne, CFP, shares practical ways to protect yourself.

One message that stands out: fraud can happen to anyone. Knowing the warning signs and acting proactively can help you stay one step ahead.
