As Black History Month comes to an end, ACTO encourages you to continue honouring and celebrating the contributions of Black Americans and Canadians daily.
Today, we honour and celebrate Dr. June Marion James who was the first Black Canadian to be admitted to the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Medicine. Upon completion of her degree, Dr. James went on to pursue her passion for pediatrics. She earned a Specialist Certificate in Pediatrics and Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Dr. James has won numerous awards and is a leader in her fields and the community! Thank you for your contributions, Dr. James!
