🏦 Bank of Canada Holds Rates Again

The Bank of Canada announced today that it is holding its overnight policy rate at 2.25% — marking its fifth consecutive rate hold.

While many Canadians were hoping for further rate cuts, the Bank continues to take a cautious approach as it monitors inflation, economic growth, employment data, and global uncertainty.

What does this mean for borrowers?

✅ Variable-rate mortgage holders will see no change to their payments or interest costs today.
✅ Fixed mortgage rates remain driven by bond yields and can still move independently of Bank of Canada decisions.
✅ If you're renewing your mortgage in the next 6–12 months, now is a great time to review your options and strategy.
