Law Society Tribunal Proceeding Update - December 21, 2018 12/16/2019

Dominador Dela Saludares, Paralegal (Toronto)
Mr. Saludares committed professional misconduct by acting in circumstances where he ought to have known that he was being used to facilitate dishonesty, fraud, or illegal conduct, failing to comply with client verification requirements, and acting outside the scope of his P1 paralegal licence. His licence is suspended for three months, and he is ordered to pay $5,000 in costs to the Law Society.

July 12,2016 - The 6 mushroom picker complainants - Elian Pearl Navarro (She was 3 mos pregnant when she arrived in Canada), Mark Anthony Orquiza, Irvin Atanoza, Renante Maximo, Jon Edison Diongson & Marianne Baladad arrived in Canada thru A & L Hammer Agency

Sept 2016 - They contacted Michele Rose ( Paralegal whose license was suspended permanently ). Only 2 months in Canada, the 6 complainants gave their own testimonies and Michele Rose put it in a binder.

December 2016 - Michele Rose gave the binder to RCMP ( Royal Canadian Mounted Police )

April 12,2017 - RCMP endorsed it to CBSA ( Canada Border Services Agency ) and called the operation "Operation Button ''.

May 10,2017 - CBSA interviewed the 6 complainants

June 2017 - The 6 Mushroom pickers complainants were given an OPEN WORK PERMIT ( Less than a month after an interview with CBSA )

July 2017 - The 6 mushroom picker complainants runaway from Sharon Mushroom Farm with the instruction from the CBSA (According to the testimony given in the court by Elian Pearl Navarro - one of the 6 runaways )

August 2017 - The 6 runaways were given a job in Blue Mountain Resort by CBSA

October 2017 - Sharon Mushroom Farm & A and L Hammer were both raided by CBSA. More than 25 officers went to A & L Hammer and more than 65 officers went to Sharon Mushroom Farm. Almost 100 CBSA officers raided the 2 businesses

May 2018 - CBSA laid charges against Sharon Mushroom Farm & A & L Hammer - 6 counts of Human Trafficking, 128 IRPA - Counselling Misrepresentation.

Nov 4 to Nov 15,2019 - Preliminary Inquiry ( suppose to be 10 days hearing ). But after 4 days hearing, the Crown stopped the trial and decided not to continue.

Dec 11,2019 - CBSA & Crown officially dropped and withdrew all the charges against A & L Hammer Workforce Mgt & Sharon Mushroom farm.
