☕💚 Thank You, W***y Volunteers! 💚☕

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the school’s Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast last week - and an even bigger thank you to every parent, caregiver, family member, and community supporter who has contributed to the W***y community this year in whatever way they could.

Whether you volunteered at an event, organized behind the scenes, donated items, helped in classrooms, supported SAC initiatives, attended meetings, supervised trips, purchased tickets to events, or simply stepped up when help was needed - it all matters. Every contribution helps create the vibrant, caring, and connected school community W***y students benefit from every single day. 💫

A special thank you to the school for organizing such a thoughtful event, and to the teachers and staff who joined in celebrating the incredible volunteer community that supports W***y throughout the year.

The morning also included a very special thank you and sendoff for outgoing SAC Co-Chair Janet, who has dedicated so much time, energy, and heart to the W***y community over the years. Her impact on the school community has been truly remarkable, and she deserves all the recognition and appreciation. 💚

The students also went above and beyond creating beautiful artwork and heartfelt messages. Their thoughtful words, creativity, and kindness were incredibly touching and a wonderful reflection of the impact Janet - and all W***y volunteers - have had on so many students over the years. ✨

📚✨ Bookmark Contest at W***y! ✨📚

The amazing Grade 4 Library Leaders have come up with a wonderful idea and have been visiting classrooms to share an exciting initiative for W***y Blanche - a school-wide Bookmark Contest! 👏

This is a fun and creative opportunity open to all students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 (participation is optional).

🎨 Contest Theme
“Why I read / Je lis parce que…”

Students are invited to design a bookmark that represents their personal reasons for reading — whether it’s for adventure, imagination, learning, or fun! 📖💛

🏫 Display & Categories
All entries will be displayed in the library, with the goal of showcasing them at W***y Blanche Night (May 13) 🌙✨ - and leaving them up afterwards as a celebration of reading across the school.

Entries will be grouped by:
• Kindergarten
• Grades 1-3
• Grades 4-6

📝 How to Participate
• Download the Kindergarten or Primary/Junior template
• Design your bookmark based on the theme
• Be creative and have fun! 🎉
• Include your name and classroom
• Fold your paper in half
• Drop it in the box in the office

📅 Deadline: Tuesday, May 12 (morning)

This is a great way for students to share their love of reading and highlight why the school library is such an important and special place in the W***y community 💚📚

Join W***y SAC and the Gardening Committee this Saturday, May 9 from 1:00-3:00 PM as we come together to help clean up and care for our shared school space 💚

📍 Meet in the front schoolyard
🧤 Bring gloves if you have them
🌿 Stay afterward to help in the gardens
🍎 Snacks and refreshments provided!
