Supported by a grant from the Entente Foundation, the Walking in the Footsteps project supports the health and well-being of older adults in Mi’kmaq communities in Nova Scotia by making it easier to stay active and connected.

The program encourages regular walking through community-led challenges, where participants travel between 13 Mi’kmaq communities while learning about local, culturally meaningful trails.

This year marks the conclusion of a remarkable chapter as we say farewell to Ted Whiteland, following more than a decade of service on the Foundation Board. Since joining the Board in 2014, Ted has been a passionate champion of the Foundation and a steady source of wisdom and guidance. His thoughtful leadership helped position the Foundation for continued success. We wish him all the best in the years ahead. Thank you, Ted! 👏
