Do you stay in touch with past employees? Do you ever consider bringing them back? I’d like to share my story about Sabah, one of our amazing team members, who returned to us a couple of years ago, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Sabah first joined us when she moved to Canada from Ireland. She was a fantastic addition to the team, but at the time, we were an in-office company, and the long commute became too much after she moved to the west end. She decided to pursue other opportunities, and we were sad to see her go.

Fast forward a few years, and we transitioned into a fully remote company. Sabah was one of the first people I thought of to build this new team, so I reached out, and it turned out the timing – and the flexibility – was perfect for her! She came back, and it was as if she’d never left.

What I’ve learned is that staying connected with former employees can be a powerful strategy. People grow and gain experience elsewhere, but if they were great to work with the first time, they’ll likely be even better when they return.
