Check out this 2016 Gibson R8 with a twist!

This Gibson Custom started its life as a standard R8, and in 2016 it was refinished and aged by Palermo Guitars to replicate the famous “Greeny” Les Paul owned by Peter Green, Gary Moore, and presently Kirk Hammett.
The neck pickup has had its magnet reversed to emulate the out-of-phase tone made famous by that guitar. This guitar features all the hallmarks of the original, including mismatched k***s and period-correct aging.

Check out this custom ordered 2019 Gibson R8.

Long & McQuade ordered this R8 in with some custom features. Based on a traditional R8, the neck has the profile you would expect — a full C with slightly rounded shoulders, large but very manageable. The top was hand-picked by L&M, featuring a tightly figured flamed maple (no pickguard installed, but one is included). The back is one-piece mahogany, and all plastics and nickel parts are Gibson’s “True Historic.” Both pickups are unpotted CustomBuckers with the bridge cover removed. The guitar is very resonant and sounds fantastic.
It weighs in at 8 lbs. 5 oz. and is in mint condition!

Check out this nicely preserved 1957 Gibson Les Paul TV Special.

This guitar is in fantastic original condition: the TV finish shows checking with some minor player wear, all the hardware and plastics are original to the guitar, the pots date to 1957 with original solder, and both P-90s are untouched and sound incredible.
The Brazilian rosewood board and original frets look unplayed with no divots, the original nut is still intact, and the guitar plays perfectly all over the neck.
The one anomaly — which we have seen before — is the “stinger” on the back of the headstock with no serial number. The headstock has been examined under a black light and shows no repairs or breaks. Notably, the checking pattern in the TV finish around the headstock runs over the black stinger, confirming this left the factory that way so this could be a guitar that slipped through without a serial number, or possibly an employee guitar.
Either way, a great playing example from one of Gibson’s finest years.
