Developers need pain in order for them to learn. They need to pivot away from investors and toward end users. If it doesn't hurt, they won't learn the lesson they need to learn. I don't want them to go under and for people to lose their jobs, though.

If people aren't buying new, then builders aren't starting projects. It will get worse, as all those canceled projects from the past 1-2 years don't start in the coming years.
