The Giuoco Piano Game is a branch of the Italian Game, with the continuation of Bishop to C5. Translated in italian as the "quiet game", it allows intermediate players to continue with a variety of lines without have massive weaknesses. From this position, the center pieces have been controlled along with natural development of the knights and bishops. What would you play next as white?

Hi all! VMC Library's chess program are continuing for children, adults and families to enjoy. This program will run every 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. See you there!

Max is a Grade 10 student at The York School and an avid chess player immersed in the game, often contemplating what piece to move. Besides engaging in chess games, you can spot Max devoting his time to ultimate frisbee, skiing, and hockey. Combining with Chess in the Library, Max is ready to help you reach your chess potential. He can’t wait for this amazing year to unfold on and off the board.

Crystal is a Grade 10 student at Havergal College. She played competitive chess when she was young and has recently gotten back into the game. Apart from chess, Crystal likes to play geoguessr, watch youtube, and curl (the sport). She is excited to be a part of the CITL team as a marketer.
