BMW M3 Competition CS — Full Body Satin PPF

A truly aggressive machine with stunning design, exposed carbon accents, and serious performance. This is not a car you leave unprotected.

Our client took it a step further — choosing a premium satin PPF from ID Protection to enhance the look and give the car an even sharper, more aggressive finish.

Full Body PPF means top-to-bottom protection — from rock chips, scratches, road debris, and everyday wear. Especially on a car like this, where carbon fiber parts (hood, roof, aero components) are extremely expensive to repair or replace.

Every chip on carbon costs more than protecting it properly from day one.
That’s why this isn’t just protection — it’s a smart investment.

✔️ Self-healing surface
✔️ Hydrophobic top layer
✔️ Preserves original paint & carbon
✔️ Maintains resale value
✔️ Satin finish = unique, standout look

Cars like this deserve the highest level of care. No shortcuts.

Squeegee Out of Water – PPF Application Technique

Properly pushing water out from under the Paint Protection Film is one of the most critical steps for a clean, long-lasting installation.

Start with focus and consistency. Every movement of the squeegee must overlap the previous pass — this ensures no water lines or air pockets are left behind. Work methodically, section by section, without rushing.

Pay close attention to contamination. Make sure no dust or debris is trapped under the film. If you notice a particle while the film is still fresh, carefully lift the film, remove the contamination, and reapply it. Ignoring this step will affect both the appearance and durability of the install.

When working on panels with body lines or hood ribs, always squeegee along the lines — never push water across them. This helps the film settle naturally and prevents tension or lift along the edges.

For darker vehicles, we recommend using a slightly higher soap ratio in your slip solution. This gives you better control, reduces friction, and minimizes the risk of marks during installation.

Also, control your pressure — firm, even pressure is key. Too light, and you’ll leave water behind. Too aggressive, and you risk stretching the film or creating marks. Let the film work with you, not against you.

At ID Protection, this is just one of many techniques we break down in detail during our PPF training. We don’t just show the process — we explain the “why” behind every step, so you can build real skill and confidence in your installs.
