Jeff Barnaby was a talented and passionate Director who cared deeply about his community. I continue to be inspired by his creativity and ability to fight for what he needed as an Indigenous filmmaker working in horror.

He encouraged me to keep trying to get better, while also making me feel like I was already good enough. His work made it easier for me to do mine, setting a precedent of excellence with Blood Quantum that changed the way the industry saw all of us. I feel l so lucky to have known him, even so briefly, and to have felt the direct impact of his legacy. I send my love and support to his family, friends, cast and crew.
