A question I get asked quite often is: What is the best way to _____ for fat loss/build muscle/get healthy/stay injury-free/get better from an injury etc. ❓
The truth is, any adaptation within the body is a sum of all the physiological ➕ neurological processes that occur. Everything is connected, and nothing works in isolation.
Here's an example:
➡️ Jane wants to decrease her inflammatory markers and lose weight. She eats a 🥗 for lunch every day but is unable to see results.
What we did not know about Jane before were:
🔴 She is a chronically late sleeper and drinks too much coffee (hormonal health)
🔴 Her workout schedule is dependent on current moods (inconsistency of habit)
🔴 Aside from her one a day salads, it would be rare to find other meals containing vegetables during the day (PH imbalance)
🟡 As you can tell, it is much easier to come up with ideas on what she could do once we have the facts.
🟢 Here are steps to begin crushing your goals more effectively:
1️⃣ Create a meaningful goal with a profoundly personal emotional connection.
2️⃣ Find a top performer and find out what kind of person you will need to be to emulate their results.
3️⃣ Write down a list of actions that you have yet to begin doing or have overlooked in the past.
4️⃣ Put everything in writing and hold yourself accountable. If you had selected a strong emotion in step 1, this would already serve as your intrinsic motivator.
5️⃣ Get your plan in action and re-evaluate after several weeks. It is important not to over-do “micro-measurements”, as long-term body adaptations require time.
