Raymond Pettibon on the cover, Kool Keith’s cocktail recipe, analysis of mosh pit dynamics, Amyl & the Sniffers’ nap schedule, Warthog’s skulleted mascot’s birthday party, The Who’s shenanigans and the investigative piece about the murder of a communist bookstore owner, referenced in a Sonic Youth song.

We send our condolences and lend our support to Charlie Hebdo. Being no strangers to journalistic controversy and censorship, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our French colleagues. The results of this cowardly attack prove yet again that you can’t muzzle free speech—Stéphane Charbonnier’s voice is now amplified a thousandfold, and it's growing louder than ever.
